HEBRON SPORTS DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE

BEFORE THE PLAYER, BUILD THE ATHLETE.

BEFORE THE PLAYER, BUILD THE ATHLETE.

BEFORE THE PLAYER, BUILD THE ATHLETE.

SPEED. STRENGTH. MOVEMENT. COMPETITION. CONFIDENCE.

HSDI Performance Academy develops the physical foundation young athletes carry into every sport they play. Through age-appropriate movement training, speed development, strength foundations, coordination, competition, and athletic problem-solving, athletes learn how to move better before being asked to specialize.

ATHLETE DEVELOPMENT

WE BUILD ATHLETES.

WE BUILD ATHLETES.

Young athletes do not begin as football players, basketball players, runners, or soccer players. They begin as athletes. HSDI Performance Academy develops the underlying physical qualities that allow children to participate successfully across sports: movement quality, acceleration, coordination, balance, strength, body control, spatial awareness, reaction, confidence, and competitive movement.

The sport may change. The athletic foundation travels with them.

THE PERFORMANCE SYSTEM

RUN. JUMP. MOVE. COMPETE. DEVELOP.

RUN. JUMP. MOVE. COMPETE. DEVELOP.

Performance Academy is not simply conditioning. Every training environment should give young athletes opportunities to solve movement problems, learn technique, compete, and progressively improve their physical capabilities.

01 — RUN
Acceleration, sprint mechanics, change of direction, rhythm, posture, and efficient running movement.

02 — JUMP
Landing mechanics, force absorption, takeoff, coordination, balance, and elastic movement.

03 — MOVE
Body control, mobility, spatial awareness, lateral movement, transitions, and multi-directional coordination.

04 — COMPETE
Races, relays, reaction games, movement challenges, partner competition, and controlled competitive environments.

05 — DEVELOP
Build confidence, physical literacy, consistency, work habits, resilience, and a stronger athletic foundation over time.

Movement is taught. Athleticism is developed. Competition gives athletes a reason to apply both.

YEAR-ROUND DEVELOPMENT

PERFORMANCE MOVES WITH THE ATHLETE.

PERFORMANCE MOVES WITH THE ATHLETE.

Performance supports HSDI’s sport programs throughout the year. Its role changes as athletes move from dedicated mid-year development into spring Track & Speed and summer football preparation.

01 — MID-YEAR | NOVEMBER–JANUARY

PERFORMANCE ACADEMY

Following the fall season, Performance Academy becomes the dedicated development environment for movement quality, acceleration, coordination, strength foundations, body control, reaction, and competitive movement.

02 — SPRING | FEBRUARY–MAY

PERFORMANCE + TRACK & SPEED

Performance is not a separate spring program. Its movement, speed, coordination, strength, and athletic-development principles are integrated into HSDI Track & Speed.

03 — SUMMER | JUNE–JULY

PERFORMANCE + FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT

Performance returns as part of summer football development. Physical and football development progressively work together to prepare athletes for the upcoming fall season.

HSDI BASKETBALL ATHLETE DISCOUNT

Athletes registered and fully paid for the current HSDI Winter Basketball season are eligible for a $50 discount on Winter Performance Academy registration. Discounted registration is $100 per athlete instead of $150.

Promotional codes are issued exclusively by the HSDI Director following verification of Basketball registration and payment. Each code is assigned to one athlete, is nontransferable, and can be redeemed only once. Families must contact HSDI directly to request an authorized promotional code.

REGISTRATION OPENING SOON. This discount is not yet available for redemption. Promotional codes cannot currently be entered or used.

JOIN AFTER WE START?

Athletes may enter the Mid-Year Performance Academy after training has begun. Registration is not prorated. Athletes joining later pay the full program fee and enter the training progression at its current point.

Winter Performance Academy standard registration is $150 per athlete, regardless of residential location. Eligible HSDI Winter Basketball athletes receive a $50 discount for a $100 athlete rate. These rates apply to the November–January academy, not the entire annual development pathway.

PHASE 01

RESET. REBUILD. DEVELOP.

The mid-year phase intentionally changes emphasis as athletes move away from fall competition and toward spring development.

NOVEMBER — RESET

Movement quality · Coordination · Body control · Landing mechanics · Recovery

DECEMBER — REBUILD

Acceleration · Strength foundations · Jumping and landing · Multi-directional movement · Reaction

JANUARY — DEVELOP

Running mechanics · Acceleration · Strength development · Change of direction · Athletic competition

FEBRUARY → TRACK & SPEED
Performance development now becomes integrated into the spring Track & Speed program.

THE ATHLETE FIRST
DEVELOPMENT BEFORE SPECIALIZATION.
Elementary-age athletes benefit from broad exposure to movement rather than premature specialization. Performance Academy creates an environment where athletes can develop physical qualities that support multiple sports instead of training exclusively for one position, one team, or one season.

HOW WE TRAIN

TEACH. MOVE. COMPETE. REPEAT.

TEACH. MOVE. COMPETE. REPEAT.

Young athletes improve through a simple cycle: teach the movement, repeat it with purpose, apply it under pressure, then correct what comes next.

01 — TEACH

Explain the movement. Demonstrate the standard.

02 — MOVE

Build quality through purposeful repetition.

03 — COMPETE

Apply the movement through races, relays, reactions, partner challenges and competitive drills.

04 — CORRECT

Give feedback. Make the adjustment. Rep it again.

The goal is development—not exhaustion.

STRENGTH FOUNDATIONS

LEARN TO CONTROL THE BODY FIRST.

Strength training for young athletes starts with movement—not maximum weight. HSDI teaches athletes to control their bodies, establish strong positions, produce force, and safely absorb it before resistance becomes more advanced.

COMPETITIVE DEVELOPMENT

ATHLETES LEARN BY COMPETING.

ATHLETES LEARN BY COMPETING.

Drills teach the movement. Competition tests whether an athlete can use it. Races, relays, reaction games, partner challenges, and team competition force athletes to execute while making decisions, responding to pressure, and adapting in real time.

THE COACHING STANDARD

COACH THE ATHLETE.

COACH THE ATHLETE.

Young athletes need coaches who teach movement—not simply command effort. HSDI coaches communicate clearly, demonstrate and correct technique, organize purposeful progressions, and understand the developmental needs of elementary-age athletes.

01

TEACH THE MOVEMENT

SHOW WHAT GOOD LOOKS LIKE.

Explain and demonstrate sound movement so athletes understand what they are being asked to execute.

02

CORRECT THE DETAIL

COACH WHAT YOU SEE.

Give athletes specific, understandable feedback they can immediately apply.

03

PROGRESS WITH PURPOSE

EARN THE NEXT STEP.

Increase complexity and difficulty when the athlete is developmentally ready—not simply when the workout needs to feel harder.
