HEBRON SPORTS DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE

BUILT BEFORE FRIDAY NIGHT.

Fundamentals. Movement. Football intelligence. Toughness. Leadership.

HSDI Football develops young athletes through a structured football system aligned with the standards, habits, culture, and developmental expectations of Hebron Football.

MORE THAN A SEASON.

Football at HSDI is not simply a team assembled for a fall schedule. It is part of a year-round athlete-development system built to give young players a stronger foundation before they reach middle school and eventually enter the Hebron High School football program. Athletes learn how to move, practice, communicate, compete, respond to coaching, understand assignments, and operate within a team.

The objective is not to accelerate children into high-school football. The objective is to prepare them correctly for it.

THE HEBRON PATHWAY

START HERE. GROW HERE. ARRIVE PREPARED.

HSDI serves young athletes within the Hebron community and creates an organized developmental bridge between youth football and the football environment they may encounter later in middle school and at Hebron High School. Our responsibility is to improve the starting point. That means athletes entering the next stage of football with better movement, stronger fundamentals, greater confidence, improved football understanding, and familiarity with the expectations of a disciplined program.

STAGE 01

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

Learn the game correctly.

STAGE 02

MIDDLE SCHOOL PREPARATION

Build movement, technique, confidence, and football intelligence.

STAGE 03

HEBRON FOOTBALL

Arrive with a stronger foundation and an understanding of the standard.

PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

THE COMPLETE FOOTBALL PLAYER.

FUNDAMENTALS

Stance, starts, blocking, tackling progression, ball security, catching, throwing, leverage, pursuit, footwork, and position-specific technique.

MOVEMENT

Acceleration, change of direction, balance, body control, coordination, speed mechanics, and safe athletic movement.

FOOTBALL IQ

Alignment, assignments, formations, situational awareness, communication, recognition, and understanding why each responsibility matters.

COMPETITIVE HABITS

Effort, preparation, consistency, discipline, resilience, and learning how to respond when football becomes difficult.

LEADERSHIP

Accountability to teammates, coachability, communication, respect, responsibility, and representing the Hebron community appropriately.

DEVELOPMENT BEFORE SPECIALIZATION.

Young athletes are still developing physically and cognitively. HSDI therefore emphasizes transferable athletic ability and foundational football skills rather than premature specialization. Players should learn multiple movement patterns, understand the game from more than one perspective, and develop the broad athletic qualities that support long-term performance. Football is one part of the larger HSDI development system. Throughout the year, athletes can continue developing through Performance, Track & Speed, 7v7, Basketball, Indoor Soccer, and other HSDI programming.

THE SEASON

A STRUCTURED FALL DEVELOPMENT SEASON.

HSDI Football operates during the traditional fall football season. Training is organized around progressive skill development, team installation, competitive preparation, and weekly game participation. HSDI controls the athlete-development environment: coaching standards, practice structure, football teaching, team identity, culture, and developmental expectations. Competition is conducted through an approved external football league.

CURRENT COMPETITION MODEL

For the 2026 football season, HSDI teams compete through CYFL. Beginning with the planned next-stage program structure, HSDI Football transitions toward a grade-based K–6 competition model. League participation may change over time without changing the underlying HSDI developmental system.

STANDARD WEEKLY RHYTHM

Practice schedules may vary by team, facility availability, weather, and league scheduling.

MONDAY

Correct. Recover. Rebuild.

TUESDAY

Develop technique and install.

THURSDAY

Prepare to compete.

WEEKEND

Game competition.

THE PATHWAY

FOOTBALL FROM THE BEGINNING.

HSDI Football is designed to serve elementary-age athletes within the Hebron community.

FLAG FOOTBALL

Entry-level football experience emphasizing movement, ball skills, spatial awareness, teamwork, confidence, and learning how football works. Current HSDI flag programming begins with the youngest athletes and provides a developmental introduction before tackle football.

TACKLE FOOTBALL

Progressive tackle-football development emphasizing safe technique, blocking and tackling fundamentals, position development, football intelligence, team responsibility, and competitive preparation. HSDI is moving toward a grade-based K–6 structure as the program enters its next competition phase.

OUR COMMUNITY — HSDI primarily serves athletes and families connected to the Hebron High School attendance area and surrounding Hebron-zoned communities.

THE PRACTICE ENVIRONMENT

TEACH. REP. CORRECT. REPEAT.

A productive youth football practice should contain more teaching than standing. HSDI practices are designed around high-repetition developmental periods, position fundamentals, competitive drills, team football, and age-appropriate installation. Coaches are expected to teach athletes what to do, why they are doing it, and how to correct it. Practice should develop the player—not simply prepare a playbook.

THE HSDI STANDARD

FOOTBALL TEACHES RESPONSIBILITY.

FOOTBALL TEACHES RESPONSIBILITY.

Football gives young athletes an unusually powerful environment for learning responsibility. Players depend on one another. Assignments matter. Effort affects the group. Preparation becomes visible. HSDI uses football to reinforce expectations that extend beyond the field: discipline, accountability, communication, resilience, respect, and service to something larger than the individual.

We want athletes to become better football players. We also expect them to become better teammates.

YEAR-ROUND DEVELOPMENT

MULTI-SPORT ATHLETES BELONG HERE.

MULTI-SPORT ATHLETES BELONG HERE.

HSDI supports multi-sport development. Football players should not believe they must play football twelve months a year to remain part of the program.

TRACK & SPEED — Develop speed, acceleration, mechanics, and competitive movement.

BASKETBALL — Develop spatial awareness, coordination, reactive movement, and decision-making.

INDOOR SOCCER — Develop footwork, conditioning, spatial awareness, and rapid decision-making.

PERFORMANCE — Develop movement quality, strength foundations, acceleration, coordination, and athletic capacity.

7V7 — Develop passing-game skills, route understanding, coverage recognition, communication, and open-space football.

Different sports create different problems for young athletes to solve. That variety is valuable.

THE COACHING STANDARD

COACHING MATTERS.

COACHING MATTERS.

Youth athletes deserve coaches who understand that development comes before ego. HSDI coaches are expected to teach fundamentals, communicate clearly, create disciplined environments, model the behavior expected from athletes, and place long-term player development ahead of short-term outcomes.

Winning matters because competition matters. Development determines how we pursue it.

FOR PARENTS

WHAT YOU SHOULD EXPECT FROM HSDI FOOTBALL.

WHAT YOU SHOULD EXPECT FROM HSDI FOOTBALL.

Families should expect an organized program, clear communication, developmental coaching, defined standards, appropriate competition, and an environment connected to the broader Hebron community. In return, HSDI expects athletes and families to support attendance, punctuality, sportsmanship, coachability, team commitments, and the standards required to operate a strong community program.

This works best when athletes, coaches, and parents understand that they are part of the same developmental system.

READY TO GET STARTED?

READY TO BECOME A HAWK?
